Also, if he wanted to write without any distractions, then he should have chosen a different place, like one of the hotels rooms, or some back room somewhere, not out in the open lobby and then prohibit anyone from being there since he was trying to take away a huge chunk of their freedom since it's practically in the middle of the hotel. Then again, the director of the movie Stanley made no sense either, so I suppose it fit.
